A former second-grade teacher accused of sexual assault by a student has pleaded guilty to a count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.
66-year-old Perry Heppler, who used to teach 2nd grade at Hollwood Elementary School, was arrested in February in connection to the assault which involved a student.
Authorities say the incident didn’t happen at the school or during a school function.
Heppler resigned before being arrested. Three other counts were dropped with the plea. He’s due to be sentenced in June.
