Ligonier Mayor Patty Fisel has passed away at age 82 after serving as mayor for over 15 years.

She recently announced in a Facebook post that cancer had taken over much of her tongue and several lymph nodes, but that she would be continuing to work on projects.

Fisel was named Citizen of the Year in 1994 and was also a past president of the Ligonier Rotary Club.
