MDOT announces the permanent closure of US-31 loop ramps at Niles-Buchanan Rd

(MDOT)

The US-31 bypass in Berrien County has lost a couple of loops.

MDOT announced last week that Friday, they would be permanently closing the Niles-Buchanan loop ramps that connected US-31 to Niles-Buchanan Road. The closure is part of the US-31 repaving project, and designed to reduce rebuilding and maintenance costs in the future.

Access to all directions of the intersection will be maintained with the four remaining ramps.

The larger repaving project will bring intermittent ramp closures and other restrictions in the coming weeks between M-139 and US-12 along the bypass.
