More than 300 pounds marijuana recovered during Indiana Toll Road traffic stop

Another major drug bust happened on the Indiana Toll Road on Monday.

Almost 300 pounds of marijuana were recovered during a traffic stop near Rolling Prairie.

38-year-old Luis Dorantes Perez was arrested for dealing marijuana after a LaPorte County Police officer pulled him over for speeding and erratic driving.

The officer noticed a blanket covering several bulky items in the back of the vehicle.

Over 50 five-pound plastic packages of marijuana were reportedly found under the blanket, as well as over a dozen one-pound packages.

Perez reportedly told police he was transporting the marijuana from Washington to New York.
