Woman killed in hit and run on Bendix Drive identified

The woman was killed in an apparent hit and run collision in South Bend has been identified. Investigators were called around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, to the area of Bendix Drive between Rosetta Place Drive and Lathrop Street.

Police found the victim, Sandra Murray, 69, in the tree lawn along the east side of the road.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

So far there is no word of any suspect or vehicle description.

The crash remains under investigation by the St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team (FACT). Anyone with information about the crash is encouraged to contact FACT at 574-235-7818 extension 7112 or call Crime Stoppers at 574-288-STOP(7867).
