Man who stole from Lowe’s sentenced to jail

A Niles man who stole from a hardware store is heading to jail.

It happened on Feb. 10, 2023 at the Lowe’s in Niles Township.

44-year-old Aaron Thomas Brigham pleaded guilty to retail fraud. He is now sentenced to 180 days in jail with credit for two days served and has to pay Lowe’s $847 in restitution.

Leader Publications reports that Brigham has previously committed assault, theft, and property crimes in both Michigan and Indiana.

Defense attorney Shayne Williams said Brigham was homeless at the time of the incident.
