House Armed Services Military Personnel Subcommittee Chairman Representative Jim Banks has announced a provision in the Military Personnel subcommittee’s portion of the National Defense Authorization Act that would create a new Space National Guard.
The subcommittee mark also adds an additional 800 Guardians to the Space Force’s active-duty force and establishes a dedicated Space Force Legislative liaison.
Banks led the Military Personnel Subcommittee’s markup on Tuesday.
Now that it’s passed through the subcommittee, it will be considered by the full Armed Services Committee next week.
