Sturgis man dies after crashing motorcycle into tree

A Sturgis man is dead after crashing his motorcycle into a tree.

It happened on Saturday night, June 10, when the 60-year-old man was driving his motorcycle in Burr Oak Township.

Michigan State Police responded to the crash at s private property on Maystead Road.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers say he was not wearing a helmet when he crashed into the tree.

The passenger on the motorcycle was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigations. Alcohol and drugs do not seem to be a factor.
