Five people, including two young children, were hurt in a head-on crash in Elkhart County.
The collision happened around 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, at State Road 119 and County Road 9 when a Mercedes driven by a 36-year-old man from Nappanee improperly passed another vehicle and struck a Jeep SUV driven by an 18-year-old Goshen woman.
The man who police say caused the crash suffered neck, leg and internal injuries. He was also cited for improper passing and for never receiving a license.
The four people in the SUV suffered a range of injuries, including body pain, a broken wrist and a back injury. A 1-year-old child in the Jeep also suffered a broken femur.
Factors that led to the crash are still being inve by the Elkhart County Sheriff Office.

Main Factor: I have a Mercedes so I can do whatever I want including disregarding the rules of driving and obtaining a drivers license. Rank hubris abounds. A short 5-mile trip anywhere in the country or any town will display several such drivers. Simply, They’re hot and you are not! “Get out of my way.”
