City of Niles Public Safety Director to retire June 30

The City of Niles Public Safety Director will retire at the end of the month.

After over 30 years in local law enforcement, Jim Millin will retire from his position on June 30.

Millin started as a reserve police officer and worked his way through roles as police officer, detective lieutenant, captain and police chief, ultimately landing on the public safety director position in 2020.

According to Leader Publications, the Public Safety Director position will be taken over by Police Captain Mike Dawson after he was appointed as interim director during the May 22 City Council meeting.
