Jackson Road reconstruction project begins on Wednesday

The City of South Bend Department of Public Works announces a reconstruction project for Jackson Road from Miami Street west to city limits. Work is scheduled to begin Wednesday, July 5, with an expected completion date of the end of August, weather permitting.
Sections of the roadway will be closed when under construction. Detour routes will be Miami and Fellows streets via Johnson Road. Construction will be completed in three phases (a diagram is attached):
• Phase One is Miami Street west to the parking lot entrance for Jackson Intermediate Center’s athletic fields. Work is expected to start on Wednesday, July 5 and be completed by Friday, August 4, weather permitting.
• Phase Two is from the parking lot entrance to the south leg of Fellows Street. Work is estimated to begin Monday, August 7 and conclude Friday, August 18, weather permitting.
• Phase Three is from the south leg of Fellows Street west to city limits. Work is expected to start Monday, August 21 and be completed by the end of the month, weather permitting.
