Indiana law enforcement, Speeding Slows You Down campaign

(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)

The Kosciusko County Traffic Safety Partnership is teaming up with other Indiana law enforcement agencies. They are reminding you to stay safe on the roads and keep the speed down.

Officers will be on alert for speeders from July 10 to July 31 urging drivers to obey speed limits.

They’re participating in the Speeding Slows You Down campaign funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

They say that speeding is illegal, as well as deadly. There was a dramatic increase (15%) in speeding-related crash fatalities from 2021-2022.

In 2021, speeding killed 252 people in Indiana and was the cause of one-quarter of all crashes. Last year, speeding killed 290 people in the Hoosier state. Officials say that there will be almost 300 deaths due to speeding this year.

The Kosciusko County Traffic team says that in the end, speeding slows you down.
