Dog rescued from South Bend house fire unable to survive

A sad update on the story of a dog that was rescued by South Bend Fire and Police crews at a house fire Thursday morning.

The family says their dog Cain was unable to recover from the buildup of fluid in his lungs after the rescue, and had to be put down.

The family has a GoFundMe page to help them with Cain’s medical bills and the aftermath of the house fire, which you can find by clicking here.
