A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with a double stabbing that led to a SWAT situation.

South Bend Police were called around 5:30, Sunday afternoon, to Memorial Hospital where they interviewed the victim, who said he was stabbed in the 600 block of S. Michigan Street. While they were talking to him, a second stabbing victim arrived. Both suffered non-life-threatening wounds.

Police were able to identify a suspect and tried to speak to him at a home in the 600 block of S. St. Joseph Street. However, the suspect refused to come outside. Officers then heard what sounded like items being pushed up against the door to barricade the entry.

The SWAT Team was called and, eventually,  Robert Lee Morgan, 48, was taken into custody and charged with two counts of Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon.
