A new lane closure is greeting motorists on the north side of South Bend Monday morning.

The northbound lanes on part of Portage Avenue are closing for water and sewer work between Appaloosa Lane and Brick Road.

Southbound traffic will be down to one lane. Plan to detour with Cleveland and Lilac Roads through July 28.
