Domesticated animals and 4H fun at the fair

What is the 4H portion of the Elkhart County 4H Fair?

Fairboard President, Fred Jessup says, “that is what we’re showcasing here is the 4H projects for the kids.”

He says there’s a lot of different animals who can be seen during the fair, “all domesticated animals: chickens, pigs, beef cattle, dairy cattle, sheep, swine, anything that you would have on a farm.”

It’s not just animal projects that they’re showcasing, “not only do we have livestock 4H displays, there’s a lot of static 4H displays,” he adds, “we have a couple different

 airconditioned buildings that will have anything from photography to cooking, sewing, and cake decorating. 

There’s a new pig race event this year. It’s called All American Pig Races and happens everyday at 3 p.m., 5 p.m., and 7 p.m.. The pigs race for an Oreo cookie.
