Two people taken to hospital after Cass County crash

Two people were taken to the hospital after a crash on M-62 in Cass County.

The collision happened around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 3, near Harris Street in Jefferson Township.

According to sheriff’s investigators, a 16-year-old Edwardsburg boy in the northbound lanes attempted to turn into a driveway off of M-62 but did not see oncoming traffic and was struck by another vehicle that was heading southbound.

The 20-year-old Edwardsburg woman and her 43-year-old passenger in the southbound vehicle were both taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for treatment of their injuries sustained from the crash.

Seatbelts were worn during this crash. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.
