Man, dog found after crews extinguish house fire in Elkhart

Officials are investigating a house fire Tuesday morning in Elkhart where a man and dog were found dead.

Firefighters responded to the blaze shortly before 8 a.m. Tuesday on Myrtle Street, and discovered the victims after the flames were extinguished. Another man was able to escape the house through a second story window without injury.

The identity of the victim has not been released.
