South Bend man files lawsuit through ACLU due to police line restrictions

(95.3 MNC)
A South Bend man has filed a lawsuit through the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana.
Donald Nicodemus claims that Indiana’s new “encroachment” law violates his constitutional rights, as it bans him from observing and recording the police if he gets within 25 feet of them after being ordered to stop.
Nicodemus is a monitor of public-safety personnel, mainly the South Bend Police, and he regularly posts videos on his YouTube channel Freedom 2 Film, which has over 23,000 subscribers.
South Bend police have enforced the new law against Nicodemus to prevent him from getting close enough to observe and record their activities.

What kind of crappy cell phone does this Donald Nicodemus have that he can’t get a decent recording from 25 feet away? Scratch that, because though I have not actually watched any of his videos I’m betting he is doing far more than simply “observing” the police.

As always, the American Communist Litigation Unit is a trashbag organization.

He can film, anybody can film what they can’t do is get in the officers faces and become an obstruction…which is no doubt what he was doing.

His videos are actually pretty tame.

The Supreme Court has already ruled on this and said 10ft was sufficient without police tape. I would think y’all would be more understanding of our 1st amendment rights.

(Unfortunately, he’s being represented by a trash organization and it makes it seem like he’s just another looney).
