Bloomington police arrested a man accused of threatening two women at Indiana University with a knife, say police.

Officers responded to Fourth and Dunn Streets just after 11 a.m. after several 911 calls about two women being chased by a man with a knife.

The man was last seen at IU’s Sample Gates at Kirkwood and Indiana Avenues. After talking with someone who had seen the suspect, police were able to track him down while walking on a path on IU’s campus.

The suspect was ID’d as 22-year-old Karsten Harshbarger and he was brought into custody. Police say they found a knife while making the arrest.

The two women who were chased told police they noticed Harshbarger was following them while walking toward campus.

Harshbarger is in the Monroe County Jail on charges of intimidation while armed with a deadly weapon and possession of a controlled substance.
