Alcohol is a factor in a two-vehicle crash in Cass County.

The collision happened just before 4 p.m. on Friday, Sep. 1, at the intersection M-40 and Withers Street in Porter Township when a Mini Cooper driven by a 32-year-old man from Elkhart, was headed southbound and tried to pass a Chevy pickup driven by a 58-year-old Constantine man.

The Mini Cooper struck the pickup truck, which caused the Constantine man to lose control of his vehicle. His vehicle crossed over the oncoming lane and ran off the roadway into the embankment.

The Constantine man was taken to Corwell/Lakeland Niles Hospital for his injuries.
