The latest on a former WNBA player from Benton Harbor whose boyfriend is accused of assaulting her.

The Attorney for Kysre Gondrezick says their client has not granted nor released any statements on her own volition. The former basketball standout for Benton Harbor, West Virginia, and the WNBA was allegedly attacked by her boyfriend in a New York City hotel room. She ended up with a fracture in her neck and a deep cut on her face.

Her boyfriend, 23 year-old Kevin Porter Jr. of the Houston Rockets, pleaded not guilty to felony assault and strangulation charges. He was released and is due back in court on October 16.

Gondrezick’s attorney says much of what has been written in the press about the situation has been “misleading and inaccurate.”
