South Bend Police Department hosts monthly crime statistic meeting

The South Bend Police Department hosted their monthly crime statistic meeting on Wednesday, Sep. 13, to give the public an overview of the events in August.
According to the stats, the number of gunshot incidents reduced by 21% in August, with 117 incidents reported compared to 149 in July.
Of these incidents, 63 took place on the west side of the city, accounting for 46% of the reported incidents.
Furthermore, there were no homicides reported in August, which was an improvement from the three reported cases in July.
The number of robberies and motor vehicle thefts remained unchanged from July to August, with 41 and 32 reports, respectively.
