A homicide investigation is underway in South Bend.

It was around 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, Sep. 17, when South Bend Police Officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of North College Street on the report of a man down.

On arrival, officers located the victim, Anthony Coleman, Jr., 21, of South Bend, outside with an apparent gunshot wound to his body.

The South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit has taken over this investigation and is treating this as a homicide.
