A new study says Indiana has the sixth lowest percentage of underage drinking in the country.
Mississippi reportedly has the lowest rate of underage drinking, while Vermont has the highest prevalence of drinking between ages 12 and 20.
The research was done by Addiction Treatment Magazine, which compared all 50 states based on recent data from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration from the 2021 National Survey of Drug Use and Health.
Other states ranking in the top ten lowest percentage of underage drinking include Utah, North Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Idaho, Tennessee and Texas.
