Funding approved for new runway lights at Dowagiac Municipal Airport

The Dowagiac Municipal Airport will be getting some improvements.

Runway lighting will be replaced, thanks to a contract agreement with MDOT and Mead & White. The project will cost more than 549 thousand dollars, and is being funded by two grants. There are two separate contracts, which is unusual for projects at the airport.

In other business, the Dowagiac City Council also approved an agreement for Northrup Assessing Incorporated out of Marcellus to handle assessing services in the city through 2026. The company signed a previous three-year agreement with the city in 2017.
