South Bend man sentenced for leading police on chase in 2021

A South Bend man has been sentenced to prison for leading police on a chase on both sides of the state line two years ago.
Chad Allen Stauffer, 28, pleaded guilty to third degree fleeing police and was sentenced to 18 months to five years in prison.
It was back in October of 2021 when prosecutors say Stauffer fled from police in Niles and led them on a pursuit into Indiana.
His sentence is concurrent with the sentence he received in Cass County earlier this month for possession of burglary tools.
Leader Publications reports Stauffer’s sentence could also run concurrent with an Indiana prison sentence he’s also serving for resisting police and handgun violations.
