A man accused of murder had his criminal defense attorney withdraw from his case Thursday.

Ja Liahs Curry is the suspect in a murder that happened on February 11 at the North River Landing Apartments. When police arrived at the scene, they found Thomas Johnson who had been shot and later died at the hospital.

The Goshen News says after police talked to Curry’s girlfriend, Curry was arrested at his home just a few hours later.

He is charged with murder, criminal recklessness firing into a building, and domestic battery by means of a deadly weapon.

A total of nine misdemeanor cases and two lower-level felony cases are being divided between two attorneys.

A trial status conference is scheduled for December 14.
