Authorities are searching for three people they say assaulted a fisherman in LaPorte County.

According to conservation officers, the incident happened on Sunday on Trail Creek, just east of Michigan City.

Luckily, the fisherman only suffered minor injuries.

The three assailants, consisting of two men and a woman, took off from the scene in a 2015 white Dodge Ram with a black tailgate.
