One person recovering after shooting, another person detained by police

One person has been detained in connection with a shooting on South Bend’s northwest side.

It was just before 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, when South Bend Police were advised of a ShotSpotter notification in the 2300 block of Keller Street.

As officers were investigating, they received a report that a female with an apparent gunshot wound had arrived at the library in the 3200 block of Ardmore Trail.

The victim was transported to the hospital, where she was treated for a non-life-threatening injury.

The identity of the suspect was not released by police. There was no immediate information about the circumstances that led to the shooting.
