Three Rivers man accused of OWI, reckless driving after crash on Old U.S. 33

A Three Rivers man is accused of OWI and reckless driving after a crash on Old U.S. 33 in Elkhart County.

The collision happened around 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21, west of State Road 19, when the 42-year-old man passed several vehicles at a high speed and then ran off the road into a parking lot, according to Elkhart County Sheriff’s investigators.

The vehicle struck some vehicles in the lot, causing damage, the sheriff’s department reported.

The driver was not able to tell police what happened. He was taken to Elkhart General Hospital with back and neck pain.

A front seat passenger was also transported to the hospital with a knee injury.
