There are now two arrests in the case of a 12-year-old South Bend boy’s murder.
12-year-old Josiah Small was shot and killed and a 14-year-old was shot, but survived, near Indiana and Prairie Avenue. Prosecutors report that Small, along with an injured kid and two others, had a conflict with two guys in a car.
The guys got out of the vehicle, shot Small and the other child, and two others emerged unharmed.
The South Bend Police, alerted by ShotSpotter, found the 12-year-old shot at the scene, where he was declared dead.
Nagomba White Jr., 21, was arrested and charged with Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Attempted Murder, and Attempted Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon. Amarion Cutler, 18, is charged with Aiding, Inducing or Causing Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Attempted Murder, Attempted Murder, Attempted Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon, and Battery using a Deadly Weapon.
According to Cotter, Indiana law allows both to be charged with the same crime.
White was arrested in Indianapolis on November 9 and appeared in court on Monday. His next court appearance is on November 29, and he’s currently held at the St. Joseph County Jail without bond.
