A suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with an armed home invasion that resulted in the victim being forced to drive the suspect to a nearby gas station for money.
On Sep. 16, around 6:30 a.m., South Bend Police were dispatched to a residence in the 1300 block of Fairview Avenue in South Bend on the report of a home invasion.
The victim stated she awoke to an unknown male in her room. The suspect indicated he was armed and took money and jewelry from the victim.
The suspect then forced the victim to drive him to an ATM to get more money.
The victim drove the suspect to a nearby gas station, where she stated he threatened to hurt people in the gas station if she alerted anyone.
After getting more cash, the suspect left the gas station, and the victim was able to contact police.
The South Bend Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit identified 22-year-old Cedrick Holloway as a suspect.
On Friday, November 17, in collaboration with the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office, Holloway was charged with:
I. Armed Robbery (Level 3 Felony)
II. Kidnapping (Level 3 Felony)
III. Robbery (Level 5 Felony)
IV. Kidnapping (Level 5 Felony)
V. Theft (Class A Misdemeanor)
Holloway is currently being held at the St. Joseph County Jail.
