Drivers in Niles are adjusting to a traffic shift on US-12.
MDOT crews shifted traffic on the highway to new temporary ramps and crossovers on Friday, Nov. 17, beginning the process of removing the old pavement. ‘
This is setting up a bridge removal project scheduled for spring of next year.
During this traffic shift, US-12 is down to one lane in each direction at M-51 with temporary tamps and a new traffic signal.
M-51 will have lane closures from time to time during the project.
The project is expected to run through early May.
