Law enforcement agencies are working extra to get everyone to their holiday destinations safely this week.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that impaired driving and fatal crashes spike during the Thanksgiving holiday, with 190 people having died in alcohol-impaired driving crashes during the holiday travel period in 2021.

Law enforcement is expected to be in full force today, as an overconsumption of alcohol is expected for “Drinksgiving.”

Officers will be on high alert, and drivers are encouraged to plan ahead – designate a sober driver, use public transportation, or plan to use a ride service like Uber or Lyft.
