Some local communities have tough time responding to emergency calls

Two local communities, North Township and LaPaz, do not have enough resources to respond to emergency calls.

To address this issue, a proposed fire territory would combine the two townships into one, allowing first responders to be paid for their services. However, this would come at a cost, as taxes would increase for residents of both townships.

According to Matthew Haskins, North Township fire chief, residents of North Township would see a 34% increase in taxes, while those in LaPaz would experience a 19% increase.
