Bakers of all age and skill levels are invited to enter Santa’s Gingerbread Village Competition by submitting a handmade gingerbread house. The deadline for entry into the competition is Wednesday, November 29.
Registration is free and can be completed online at www.downtownsouthbend.com/gingerbread-village.
Entries are to be dropped off, fully assembled, to the Courtyard by Marriott lobby November 29 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and November 30 from noon to 1:00 p.m.
The Courtyard by Marriott is located at 121 S. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
The Gingerbread Village will be on display for public viewing inside the Courtyard by Marriott lobby from December 1-24.
Prizes will be awarded in five categories: non-professional child (18 and under), non-professional adult, non-professional family or group, professional (individual or group) and people’s choice.
An Award Ceremony will take place on December 16 at 3:00 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott.
Entries will be judged on originality, design, craftsmanship, degree of difficulty and overall appearance.
