(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)

Stuck at blocked railroad crossings in Elkhart County may soon be history, as commissioners approved a 5-year license agreement with Blocked Crossings L.L.C.

The agreement covers monitoring at AS MANY AS 8 crossings, including the crossings at County Roads 23, 29, 42, 50 and U.S. 6.

The initial installation costs $50,000 with a fee of $800 per month per location.

The county has allocated funds for the first year.

The Goshen News reports Commissioner Brad Rogers expressed the possibility of expanding the project based on positive feedback, with information available to the public.
