Two people shot overnight in South Bend in separate incidents have died

The two people who died in shootings late Sunday night and early Monday morning have died.

The South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is investigating two separate homicides that occurred overnight in our city.

On Sunday, Dec. 10, around 11:55 p.m., South Bend Police were called to the 3900 block of Ardmore Trail on the report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a female victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The victim, 52-year-old Zawondra Lee, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

As officers were investigating this shooting, around 12:10 a.m., on Monday, Dec. 11, South Bend Police were called to a second shooting in the 1600 block of N. O’Brien Street.

Upon arrival, officers located a male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The victim, 34-year-old Isiah Siggers, ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

Both autopsies are set for Tuesday.

The South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate each shooting.

At this time, it does not appear the shootings are connected, and both shootings are believed to be isolated incidents.
