A Goshen woman is charged with multiple counts of child neglect after a baby was brought in to the hospital.

30 year old Kyrie Brenneman is charged with two counts of Neglect of a Dependent Resulting in Catastrophic Injury and six counts of Domestic Battery with Serious Bodily Injury to a Person Under 14.

A three-month-old baby was brought into Goshen Hospital in September, suffering from a skull fracture, brain bleeding and seizures.

Brenneman and her boyfriend reportedly told police that the baby’s dad, her boyfriend, had accidentally dropped her on her head, though the boyfriend later told police that that was a lie that was made up to prevent Brenneman from going to jail.

Brenneman, when questioned, told police that she had dropped the baby on the changing table and then shook and squeezed her because she would not stop crying.

The next morning, the couple found blood on the crib and changing table and took her to the hospital.

The Goshen News reports that Brenneman allegedly told police that she’d dropped, squeezed, chucked, shook, or smacked the baby before out of frustration because her crying kept her awake.
