Elkhart’s fire chief is retiring at the end of the year.

Shaun Edgerton served as a firefighter for years, before leaving. Then, he came back in 2020 and was appointed fire chief by Mayor Rod Roberson. Mayor Roberson says he wishes Edgerton well in his future.

His last day is December 31. There’s no word on who the next fire chief will be.
