65-year-old female inmate dies at St. Joseph County Jail

An inmate’s death at the St. Joseph County Jail is being investigated by Indiana State police.

The 65-year-old female inmate, identified as Linda Kay Jones, died after an apparent medical emergency on Saturday, Dec. 23.

Staff members at the jail and EMT’s attempted life-saving measures, but Jones died, despite their efforts.

An autopsy is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, Dec. 26, in Kalamazoo.
