Investigation reveals K9 officer was shot by Gary cop during pursuit

An investigation has revealed a Gary police officer shot and injured an Indiana State Police K-9 in the midst of a pursuit of a stolen vehicle.

It happened back on Dec. 14 when troopers attempted a traffic stop on I-65.

The pursuit spanned I-80/94, I-90 and some roads in Gary.

The suspect fled on foot, prompting the deployment of K-9 Rogue who was shot in the paw.

Rogue is expected to recover.

The suspect, Damontae Reed, 22, was arrested.
