MSP to hold Employment Day in Southwest Michigan

Michigan State Police are recruiting in Southwest Michigan and will hold a one-stop Employment Day later this month.

The event is set for February 21 at Kalamazoo Valley Community College’s Texas Township campus. Applicants can apply for trooper, motor carrier officer and lateral entry recruit schools that all begin in July.

State police say they’re facing a shortage across Michigan and are working to boost staffing levels. Recruitment staff will be on site to help applicants through the process.

The event will include a baseline fitness test, written exam and hiring interview all in one visit.

Officials say no law enforcement background is required, and those planning to attend are asked to RSVP online.
