The South Bend Fire Department responded to a residential house fire in the 900 block of Brookfield Street late on January 10.

Fire crews arrived to find a chimney fire from the fireplace with fire extended up the interior wall spaces to the second level.

No injuries were reported from the home’s occupants nor firefighters on scene.
