The Alzheimer’s Association Greater Indiana Chapter is warning about the risk of wandering among people with dementia.
Six out of ten people with dementia tend to wander, which can be dangerous in extreme weather conditions.
Even in the early stages of dementia, people can become disoriented or confused. Watch out for warning signs like returning later than usual from a walk or drive, forgetting familiar places, talking about past obligations, wanting to go home, restlessness, difficulty locating familiar places, and asking about past friends and family.
