Ryan’s Place founders honored by Governor Holcomb’s office

The founders of Ryan’s Place have been honored by Governor Holcomb’s office.

Rex and Nancy Gleim opened Ryan’s Place in Elkhart County in honor of their son, who died in a car crash at the age of 20. It’s a non-profit grief support service, which has helped about 19,000 children, teenagers, and families deal with grief over the last two decades, at no cost. It was founded in 2002, ten years after their son’s passing.

The Gleims were surprised to receive the Governor’s award, The Sagamore of the Wabash, for their work in the community.

The Gleims were given the honor Thursday night.
