INDOT pushing for enhanced railroad crossing safety throughout state

The Indiana Department of Transportation enhances rail crossing safety throughout the state.
Mike Smith, the commissioner of INDOT, recently addressed the railroad house sub-committee in Washington, DC, emphasizing the need for additional safety measures and education in Indiana.
The state boasts over 7,500 railroad crossings, the fifth-highest number in the country.
This is mainly due to the proximity to the Chicago rail hub, the largest in the US. As a result of this proximity, there are numerous instances where trains cross through roads and pedestrian areas.

So what does “enhanced railroad crossing safety” entail?

“additional safety measures and education” is the only actual information in that paragraph. Looking for more fed money which is filtered through our wallets.
