State Representative Jim Lucas of Seymour is defending flashing a handgun to students inside the Statehouse. It happened on Tuesday, Jan. 30.
Lucas said he was not trying to intimidate anyone.
The students are gun safety advocates and said they were intimidated and scared by the gun-toting lawmaker.

Oh no, the poor little hoplophobes! How are they gonna survive in the cruel cruel world outside their little safe spaces? We’ve raised a generation of whiners, and they are raising a generation of wimps. At the end of the day, these kids need to realize that they are safe because other people are willing to take up weapons on their behalf.
“Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor, and the contrary opinion is wishful thinking at its worst. Breeds that forget this basic truth have always paid for it with their lives and their freedoms” ― Robert A. Heinlein
If he didn’t draw the weapon and point it at them they have no legal standing. Since every law maker and their staff can carry a weapon everyone else in the room could have been armed.
These students are not gun safety advocates they are gun banning totalitarians like literally Hitler that have been indoctrinated. If they were advocating for firearms safety they would be talking about gun safety classes and range time.
