The Curious Kids’ Museum has revealed it’s newest exhibit at the Curious Kids’ Discovery Zone.
The exhibit is called Secret Ingredients: The Inner Workings and Hidden Histories of Your Kitchen.
It includes a kid-powered, super-sized replica of a KitchenAid Stand Mixer, a game allowing kids to compete in “powering” a washing machine and dishwasher, an opportunity for kids to play the role of dirty clothes going through a classic clothes wringer, as well as multiple play kitchens from historical eras and a demonstration of the use of electricity, gas and water usage of appliances.
Executive Director of the museum, Lori Marciniak, explained that home appliances are an essential part of homes and are tools that the exhibit connects visitors with important STEM concepts in a fun way.
The exhibit will remain at the Curious Kids’ Discovery Zone through the summer and will later be available for children’s museums across the country to rent.
